Bisco Theracal LC is a light-cured, resin-modified calcium silicate liner designed for direct and indirect pulp capping as well as pulp protection beneath composites, amalgams, cements, and other restorative base materials. It acts as a protective barrier over the dental pulpal complex and is suitable for use in deep cavity preparations.

Its calcium silicate-based formulation provides calcium release that supports hydroxyapatite and secondary dentin bridge formation. The alkaline pH generated by the material promotes an environment favorable to healing and apatite formation. TheraCal LC also provides a protective seal and helps insulate and protect the dental pulp beneath restorative materials.

The material is moisture tolerant and radiopaque, allowing convenient placement beneath restorative materials and dental cements. Its light-cured setting mechanism permits immediate placement of the restorative material, helping simplify the clinical workflow. For optimal handling, a thin layer of less than 1 mm can be applied to moist dentin and light-cured for 20 seconds according to the recommended technique.
