Post-Operative Hypersensitivity in composite bonding has challenged clinicians for many years. Among other factors impacting bond performance, passive evaporation of the solvent (ethanol/acetone) from the bottle has been shown to profoundly impact bond viscosity & bond penetration. This results in a gap between the etched tubule and the resin tag, and often causes post-operative hypersensitivity.
